Brew It Yourself

There are many benefits to brewing your own beer. It works out considerably cheaper than the bought alternative, especially once you get past the first few brews and the cost of the initial equipment starts to pay off. Once you have the basics, the actual beer kits are very reasonable. When you have refined your beer making technique you are likely to find you have a better quality finished product, and of course there is the satisfaction of brewing your own beer.

Many different beer kits are on offer. You can find real ale, lager, bitter, wheat and cider beers, strong beers, youngs, summer ale and many more. A typical brew it yourself beer kit costs around £18 and will make 40 pints. This works out at less than fifty pence per pint of beer, which I am sure you will agree is a cheap price for a proper pint, with the advantage of no beer tax.

The Woodfordes range of beers and ales are popular amongst home brewers, and reviews report good clarity and a long lasting head as well as a good hoppy aroma and great taste. If you are a beginner and this is your first time then brew your own beer with one of the many starter kits available. These contain all the basic equipment needed.

Home brew kits contain a 25 litre brewing bin, paddle, syphon, steriliser and hydrometer, and cost around £17. Add to this the cost of your first beer kit and perhaps some one litre bottles to store your finished brew and you will be looking at around £47 to be up and running and produce your first forty pints of home brew beer.

Of course, the fun part comes when you can sit back and enjoy your beer in the satisfaction that you have produced it yourself. If your brew is a success then Brew it yourself then have a good selection of additional bits and pieces such as cleaning kits and beer making books to help you master the art.

Brew it yourself is a good place to start if you are new to making your own beer. Prices are competitive, the range of brewing equipment is good and wine is also catered for although not mentioned in full here. Delivery prices are reasonable and they will also ship to Spain and France, so those British Expats can get a taste of home too.
