Garden Centre is an online garden centre, with no physical retail outlets. As such they are geared up to deliver any gardening products direct to your door within the UK. This is particularly useful for heavy, messy or bulky items such as compost or gravel, which you may struggle to lift, or simply not want to soil your car with. No pun intended.
The range of gardening products is impressive, and the thing I like about Garden Centre is that the product range is constantly expanding. All the main garden accessories are covered including: lawn tractors, compost, garden tools, petrol garden shredders, an electric lawn raker, shrubs, gravels and sand, wooden planters, hanging baskets, fertilizers, dog food, and sprinklers to name a few. There are also many gardening gift ideas.
Everything from a Packet of Seeds to Slug Killer, to a top of the range Hot Tub are all available, and all have a high quality photograph of the product, and in the case of top of the range products, a full brochure.
Garden Centre has a few unique features that cannot be found on other gardening websites. Firstly they have a clever graphical tool in the shopping basket which allows you to watch your box filling up. This shows you exactly how many items you can order for the same delivery charge.
The second feature that none of the other online garden shops have is the Reward Points scheme. On inspection this is actually a very generous scheme, which effectively gives you two percent cashback on your gardening products. Registration is free, and you can cash in reward points against future orders directly on the website, so there are no barriers to redeeming points as with many supermarkets these days.
Garden Centre also provide a question and answer service via their gardening expert. If you have a gardening related question, need to identify a plant, understand different bird seed feeders or require horticultural advice, a quick email to the gardener will get your answer posted on the website within a couple of days.
This is a very clear, well designed garden centre website. Care has been taken to ensure good quality product photography. The shop is easy to navigate, and the product search is excellent. A great way to get all your gardening provisions delivered in time for a weekend working in the garden.
